Your new chimneys are up and ready for you.  And they are beauties!

After months of planning and building, two new chimney swift towers have been completed on the Greenway.  They are located near the Community Garden, behind the Macon County Public Library and are the result of effort by many Franklin Bird Club members and Friends of the Greenway members, both through building and donations.

Discussion of the tower was initiated at the 2018 Bird Club program planning meeting. Member Barbara McRae approached Duke Energy for their support.  Duke provided $500 toward the project.

Jim Shelton headed up the building team, planning, purchasing and preparing materials.
